Question 9 — Important Information for Massachusetts Voters

Sweeping changes to firearms regulations in Massachusetts took place with the passage of Ch. 135 of the Acts of 2024, An Act to Modernize Firearms. A sweeping bill affecting every aspect of gun ownership, including registration, training, and the style and size of firearms and related equipment, the law overnight turned many legal gun owners into felons.

The new gun law has already driven businesses out of state. It's hurt our state's hunting industry, and negatively impacted all legal gun owners.

The Civil Rights Coalition launched a petition drive and successfully placed a question on the November 2026 ballot to repeal the oppressive law.

Repealing the law doesn't mean our state will have no gun laws, instead it will mean Massachusetts firearms law returns to that of 2024. Even then, our state had one of the lowest rates of gun violence in the nation.

Question 9 will appear on the November 3, 2026, Massachusetts State Election ballot. It is a referendum on the state’s existing firearms law, Chapter 135. Under the official ballot wording, a YES vote keeps the law in place, while a NO vote repeals it. Massachusetts Secretary's Office

The Andover Sportsmen's Club Board of Directors supports voting NO on Question 9.
