Beginner Archery Instruction for Youth

 

We will be offering beginner archery instruction for youth on Saturday April 30 at 11:00 AM to 12:30pm.

  • Youths are generally considered ages 8-15.  Participants must be able to draw a bow of approximately 17 pounds if using club equipment.
  • Each session will consist of the following:
  • Range safety
  • Basic equipment explanations – Bow types, Bow and Arrow components
  • Proper handling of equipment
  • Introduction to the USA Archery steps of shooting
  • Developing the proper shooting form
  • For those with your own equipment please bring it.  The club will supply equipment for those who do not have their own.
  • The session will have a maximum of 10 participants as this is the number of lanes in the indoor range.
  • The session will be conducted by ASC members Jorge Kluchnik and Jim Stevens, both USA Archery Level III Coaches.

Advanced beginner/Intermediate/Advanced
6:15pm -7:15pm

ASC pistol instructors will review safety and skills necessary to use a pistol  in a comfortable learning environment.  This event is held at on the Outdoor Pistol Range (first building on the right as you enter the property) and is open to women only. 

Advanced Beginners - geared to women who are newer to shooting, have attended at least one Ladies Night training session, and are gaining confidence handling their firearm safely.

 Intermediate/Advanced - geared to women who have attended multiple training sessions and are comfortable handling their firearm safely. Please bring your pistol, ammo (50 rounds minimum), ear & eye protection.

Closed toe shoes/sneakers, no V-neck or sleeveless shirts please.
Bring/dress in layers as spring temps are unpredictable.

2022 Children's Easter Party - Had fun for all!

On Saturday April 9, the Club held an Easter Party for 50 kids from the families of our members.  Because we had April showers, the festivities were held entirely indoors. We split the party between the clubhouse and the indoor archery range. 

There was cake, ice cream, cookies, punch, and lots and lots of toy-filled eggs. 

Fun and games included the traditional egg hunt, a sack race, and an egg and spoon challenge. 

Great parties like this are not possible without the help of dedicated volunteers.
