Letter from the President - January 2015

On behalf of your entire 2014 Board of Directors we hope that all ASC members have had a wonderful Christmas and that 2015 will be a year of good health and happiness for us all.

I believe that 2014 was truly an excellent year for our club. We continue to strengthen our fiscally sound financial position while at the same time investing significantly in maintaining and enhancing our physical faculties.

The contributions of the directors in 2014 have been structured, disciplined and in all respects exemplary which should insure that the future of our club will be in good hands.

I look forward to introducing to you the 2015 Board of Directors at the forthcoming January Membership Meeting.

Dear Members:

As I will be retiring (again) from my ASC responsibilities following the forthcoming December Membership meeting, I will leave my usual comments about club operations in the very capable hands of each Director to be related to you both in their December website updates and in their personal reports to the Membership on December 11.

Instead I will appreciate your indulgence of my using my last President’s message for the purpose of thanking those with whom I have had the pleasure to work in the continuing development of ASC into being the best sportsmen’s club possible. [...]

Letter from the President - November 2014

Dear Members:

We are now in that which is possibly the most active period of our club’s calendar year. Fall activities such as the annual Turkey and Pumpkin Shoots, Trap Club Championship shoot, extremely active youth, trap, pistol, and other training department classes; etc.

We continue to enjoy a constant increase in club new membership applicants and the continued enhancement of our club’s facilities which allow us to efficiently manage a growing membership. In all instances we strive to pursue every facility project based upon a quality of materials and workmanship that will permit long term quality enjoyment of all members. [...]

On behalf of your BOD it is my hope that all ASC members and their families enjoyed a relaxing and healthy summer break.

Although monthly membership meetings are suspended during July and August, your BOD has remained fully involved in both current day-to-day club operations and future event and facilities planning which you will learn more about in the department monthly website updates and during the BOD department presentations at the September 11, 2014 member's meeting.

Dear members,

At last the seemingly never ending winter is behind us and most members are planning warm weather activities; many of which will include traveling with the commensurate drop off in the use of club facilities. Accordingly, there will be no regular monthly membership meetings nor regular monthly department Website updates during July and August. That being said, announcements concerning specific events, etc., will be posted on the Website throughout the summer.

  • Various shooting range special events;
  • Numerous training programs for youths as well as adults in multiple disciplines;

Letter from the President - April 2014

Dear ASC Members,

Anticipating that at last the interminable winter weather might be on is way out, a commensurate increase in range use activity is anticipated.

As such, the BOD has the multiple planning efforts being developed in order to avoid congestion while at the same time adding more activities for the enjoyment of members and their families. Intended actions will be in terms of extended range use periods, plus physical changes to club facilities, the details of which will be timely announced by the various range Directors and the Facilities Director. In addition, the upgrading of existing facilities will continue unabated.

Letter from the President - March 2014

Dear members,

Notwithstanding the unending bitter cold weather, all ASC operations have continued unabated including activities that may not be generally thought of as mainstream; such as the high quality re-development of the club house annex, the significant increase in the number of members that enjoy breakfast at the club on Sunday, and an increase in the number of members that enjoy our mid-week poker break.

Letter from the President - February 2014

The extraordinary number of new members having joined ASC in 2013 was gratifying to your entire Board of Directors ("BOD") that regularly devote so much time and energy to trying to create an attractive and welcoming atmosphere. As such, it is my pleasure to confirm that all members of the BOD serving at the end of 2013 will again be serving your interests in 2014.

The relationship between all ASC members and your BOD is of utmost importance if we are to enjoy the maximum benefits our club has to offer. The effectiveness of that relationship is in large part a result of how well the membership and the BOD communicate with each other. The methods by which that may occur should be extensive. However, in order to avoid an ineffective and chaotic situation all communications must take place in an organized manner with absolute respect being shown by every member to all other members at all times without exception.
