Social Committee

The Board of Directors has asked us to provide the membership and their families with some social activities to enjoy at the club. We would like your input on any "Adult Only" or "Family Oriented" functions that you would participate in if the club organized the activities.

Understanding that most families have busy schedules and vacation plans, we will try and have to have these functions on dates and times to include as many members as possible.

Members' Meeting Enhancement Committee

We would like to enhance our monthly members meeting to be more informative and interesting, and we need your help to do so. As you know, on the 2nd Thursday of each month, a membership meeting is held to update the members on the status of the club and to vote in new members.

We felt that would also be a good time to bring in some other activities into this forum. By gathering your thoughts and ideas of what you would like to have occur at these meetings, we could then go out and see how to make it happen.

So far we have had some topics already proposed:

Share Your ASC Stories!

The ASC board of directors is documenting the club's history and has asked member Randall H. Miller to manage the project. The final product will highlight significant dates and developments in the club's evolution. However, since the organization is ultimately about the bonds between like-minded men and women, your stories are equally important!

Can you recall any significant events, developments, or experiences that you'd like to share? Can you remember a particularly strong showing at a competition? Have you witnessed acts of generosity between club members or something that still makes you laugh when you think about it? If so, please take the time to write up your favorite stories to the best of your recollection and as clearly as possible and email them to rhm@randallhmiller.com. He will serve as the collection point and copyedit everything prior to any publishing on the ASC website. Additionally, please invite other members to do the same if you know of anyone with an interesting story to tell.

The ASC has a long and distinguished history but we need your help to document that history for future generations. Don't be shy!

Indoor Range Event and Update

On Wednesday, April 30th, we will try an event for members and their children. It will start at 7:00pm at the indoor range. There will be a small entrance fee, and prizes will be awarded to the best teams. At this time, only .22 caliber pistols will be allowed. Please bring ammo, ear, and eye protection. The club has both if you need a set.

There is a new design for a target carrier for the range. It is to be used when one has the targets come forward, and is a large square unit. If you wish, please try it, and let me know you thoughts or redesigns. It purpose is to prevent the targets from folding when moving towards the shooters.

Al Croteau, Indoor Range Director
