NRA Certified RSO Training

The next Range Safety Officer (RSO) NRA Certified class will be held June 18th.  You must be age 21 or older to register.  Cost of the course is $75.00 person.  This class is limited to 10 members.

License to Carry (LTC) Class

The next LTC class will be held on May 22nd from 7:30am to 4:30pm.  Lunch will be provided. The Indoor Range will be closed to regular member use from 12:30pm to 3:00pm.

Axe Throwing - Introduction & Training

Training will be presented by Ken Campisi and Bob Cochran.  Axes will be provided.  Club members and guests of family accepted with at least 1 club member present.  Ages 10+ and up allowed, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  A max of 12 participants for each hour session.  Be aware that the date/time is pending no bad weather so rescheduling may be necessary.

When:

  • May 7th 9am-10am and 10am-11am,
  • May 14th 9am-10am and 10am-11am,
  • May 21st 9am-10am and 10am-11am, and
  • July 9th 9am-10am and 10am-11am.

The Axe Range is located between the Clubhouse and garage right behind Frank’s House.

    12 tickets to each event available, users able to select multiple tickets.

Rules to follow:

 

  • Only hatchets no longer than 20” with wooden handles only. 
  • No double-sided hatchets.   
  • Throwers must be 10+ years of age, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  
  • All throwers are required to wear closed-toe shoes when throwing axes.  
  • All axes are to be thrown from the black line. 
  • Only one person at a time is allowed to throw an axe.  
  • Always remain on the nearest side of the RED line when throwing.  
  • Always remain behind the RED line until the axe has come to rest either in the target or on the ground.  
  • Viewer(s) and throwers, not in the act of throwing, MUST remain behind the black line or behind the screened wall.

Boating Safety

Boating Safety Class - Learn Boating Basics

 

The Massachusetts Environmental Police and trained volunteer Instructors will be conducting a free Boating Safety Course at the Andover Sportsmen's Clubhouse located as 655 Middleton Road, North Andover, Ma 01845.

The course is open to club members, their families and friends and to the public.  A Certificate of Boating will be issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts upon successful completion of this course.  Youths ages 12-15 who pass the course will recieve a certificate allowing them to operate a motor-boat without an adult on board.

The course will be held on three(3) consecutive Friday evenings 6:00pm to 9:30pm.  The course will begin on May 13th and runs until May 27th.
