Election process for the 2026 President & Vice President - Polls open at 5pm on December 11th
Submitted by asc-admin on November 24, 2025 - 5:52pm
Election process:
At the Board of Directors meeting in September, the President appointed a nominating committee of three members. The positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary are up for election at the December Annual Meeting. Member's who wanted to run for one of these positions submitted their intent in writing to the Nomination Committee. At the regular Membership Meeting on November 13th, the window of time for Nominations closed and the identities of the nominees was provided by the Committee to the President who announced the names at the November Meeting with elections to occur at the December 11th Annual Meeting.
The Treasurer & Secretary are running un-opposed.
As per Club Bylaw: "The President and Vice President shall retain their existing individual voting authorities but will be nominated and elected as a declared unit as if they were a single entity." This year there are two groups of qualified members running for the positions of President and Vice President. The vote for President & Vice President will occur by written ballot. The nominees are:
Unit A: Christopher Salvo (President) and John Kirk (Vice President)
Unit B: Michael Pasco (President) and Bob Cochran (Vice President) incumbent
The expected number of members to vote at this election may exceed the occupancy capacity of the clubhouse. To this end, the Candidates' names and messages have been posted in the clubhouse, on the club website and sent to members via email. Although it is your right to attend the Membership Meeting and pose questions to the candidates, if you have already decided your vote, the Polls will open at the Clubhouse at 5pm on December 11th.
To receive a ballot you must appear in person, show your badge and provide your name to the registration table staff, at which time you will receive a ballot. Upon selecting your choice you will place your Ballot in a designated “Ballot Lock Box”. Once placed in the lock box, your Ballot can not be changed. Your vote will be considered “cast” only at such time as the Chairman declares a quorum at the Annual Meeting.
Following the re-election of the Treasurer & Secretary, each of the nominees will have an opportunity to explain to the membership why they wish to be elected. The sequence of speaking will be Unit A - VP (John Kirk) followed by Unit B-VP (Bob Cochran) then Unit A – President (Chris Salvo) and Unit B – President (Mike Pasco).
Each person may speak only on his own behalf once for not more the 3 minutes. The time will be monitored by the Secretary and if a 3-minute mark has expired the Secretary will call “Time" and the nominee will immediately retire from speaking any further.
The Chairman will then ask if anyone wishes to speak in support of or against any of the nominees. No member can speak, more than once, and for not more than two minutes. The Secretary will also monitor that process.
The Chairman will state that:
- The vote will be taken by written Ballot
- Voters must sellect one of the choices listed
- A blank Ballot will not be counted as a vote
- A Ballot with a written in name will not be counted as a vote
- A majority vote is required to win the election
The Chairman will decide and announce when the polls are to be closed.
The Chairman then selects three members from the audience who will each count the votes, confirm the figures are correct and one of the three will be selected by them to provide the results, including the total votes cast, in a hand written note to the Chairman who will determine if a candidate pair has received a majority vote of the votes cast, in which case the Chairman will declare that the elections are over and closed and announce the results. If no candiate/pair receives a majority vote of the votes cast, the a re-election will be scheduled.
