A Message from the Treasurer for 2021 Membership Dues

Dear Members:

Our year runs from January 1 to December 31. Dues are paid in advance of the upcoming year. We will begin invoicing the members in September 2020 in order to provide you with 4 months advance notice so that you can renew your membership for 2021 prior to December 31, 2020.  As a result of our financial structure we have been able to fully operate, while making numerous repairs and upgrades all of which was un-affected by COVID-19 which stymied many shooting activities and programs.  By paying your dues when invoiced in September/October the club management can better plan the operating budget for 2021 and you can rest assured that your membership is renewed.

Due to the volume of members, invoices will be generated  alphabetically on the last name and sent via email.  If your email address has changed in the past year, please notify the treasurer as soon as possible with your new address (Treasurer@AndoverSportsmensClub.org).  We request that members pay their 2021 dues via the link contained in their email.  This link is unique to each member.  Payment via this method directly credits the member's account, with minimal clerical effort.  If you experience a problem with the link please contact the Treasurer.  If you would prefer writing a check  please make the check payable to "Andover Sportsmen's Club, Inc."  in the amount of $130 and include your badge number in the memo section.  Please mail to the Andover Sportsmen's Club, Inc. at Post Office Box 255, Andover, MA  01810.

Be aware that if the club doesn't actually receive your renewal payment by 5pm on 12/31/2020, you will be dropped from the membership list, not be permitted to access the club property, and your key card will be deactivated. You may, within 30 days thereafter, be reinstated if you provide a written request for re-instatement satisfactory to the Board of Directors and remit your 2021 dues plus a $30 late fee. After January 31st, 2021 you will be deemed delinquent for nonpayment and cannot be re-instated.  At that point, your only option would be to re-join as a new member.

FOR NEW MEMBERS, IF YOUR APPLICATION FEE EXCEEDED $380, THEN YOU HAVE ALREADY RENEWED YOUR MEMBERSHIP FOR 2021.  THE HIGHER APPLICATION FEE OCURS FOR THE JOIN MONTHS OF SEPT, OCT., NOV. AND DEC.

Sincerely,

Brad Reichter, Treasurer

Re-opening Plan Rule

Dear Members:

The Board of Directors has recently voted to replace, effective today, the Re-Opening Plan Rule established on May 15th and amended June 22. Specifically, it is recommended, but not required, that members: (1) continue to practice social distancing, (2) routinely wash their hands and (3) use personal judgment for the wearing of face coverings.

Members are responsible for their own actions as well as the action of their guests. The virus policy enacted on March 11 remains in full force and effect. Members are responsible to be aware of everyone around them for the safe handling of firearms, bows and conduct concerning COVID-19. As such some people may be A-symptomatic of COVID-19 whereby we must recommend that safe distancing, hygiene and mask protection be used. As a Member, if you feel a situation is dangerous, you leave or you ask the offending member to change or if the situation is deemed significant, you file a report.

As no negative repercussions have occurred regarding guests since the club reopened, approximately two months ago this vote also eliminates the restriction that the club not be open to the public or guests.

Richard A. Reichter, President

2020 Club Fireworks

On behalf of all club members, many, many thanks to Brad Reichter for organizing the truly extraordinary July 3rd fireworks display and his staff of Dan Croteau,,Brake Croteau, Tim Gallant and Kathy Gallant who assisted in making the event a success.  The event made for a nice evening distraction  welcomed by all as a bit of relief from the depressing COVID-19 pressurs.

Putting on such as event was not a simple thing to do in as much as we were required to engange in discussions with local Fre Prevention and the state Fire Marshall as well as the Police department, Board of Health the the pyrogechnic vendor.

The actual display was unusually creative to the delight of the children  especially as they had been disapointed when learning that so many community fireworks displays had to be cancelled.

Next year we hope to have fireworks again, with a cookout, events and games.
