Mock Archery Tournament

We will be holding a mock tournament for those of you that have never competed formally and would like to experience what it is like to do an archery tournament with multiple shooting lines and timed ends. Additionally, if you just want to get in some tournament practice before States and Nationals, come join us.

We will go through all the aspects of what to expect in a sanctioned tournament, including bow inspection, dress code, rules and timing.

We will be doing a FITA 60 which will consist of 2 rounds of 30 arrows each. There will be a 15 minute break between the rounds.

We have a maximum of 20 participants. There will be 2 lines of 10 archers. It will be very crowded but this is good as it will give you the feeling of a real tournament.

Bow inspection will begin at 10 a.m. and shooting at 10:30am. The event should go till about 1:30pm.

Please use the link below to register.  Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis and on your preferred time slots.  Make sure you can commit to the days/times you have selected.

Candidates for the 2026 President & Vice President

Michael Pasco for President

Hello fellow members,

My name is Mike Pasco, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for President of the Andover Sportsmen’s Club. I’m proud to be running alongside Bob Cochran, our current Vice President, as we look forward to continuing our service to the club and its members.

I’d like to share why we are so committed to ASC. I have been an active member for approximately 13 years, during which time I have served in multiple roles. I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors, and shortly after my first year as a member, I was appointed Membership Director by then-President Dick Reichter. My duties included providing club and facility tours, preparing new-member packets, and nominating prospective members.

During that period, I was also appointed to serve as Interim Trap & Skeet Director, and I ultimately served six years as Club Secretary as part of the Board of Directors. In these roles, I worked closely with many members to support our activities, uphold our traditions, and contribute to facility improvements that keep our club strong and help grow our membership.

I also want to share a bit about my relationship with Bob. Over the years, Bob and I have worked side by side on numerous club initiatives, and our professional collaboration has grown into a genuine friendship. We’ve spent countless hours on the ranges together—whether it’s trap, skeet, rifle, or pistol—sharing ideas, comparing notes, and simply enjoying the shooting sports that brought us to ASC in the first place. We’ve supported each other at club events, volunteered together, and have always approached our responsibilities with the same mutual respect and commitment to doing what’s best for ASC. I believe that the trust, communication, and teamwork we’ve built—both professionally and through the time we’ve spent together enjoying the club’s facilities—will continue to benefit the membership if we are elected.

What I value most about being part of ASC is the community we have built—members who truly care about conservation, sportsmanship, and firearm safety, all while preserving the long-standing traditions that date back more than 90 years.

As your President, I will focus on maintaining the club’s strong standing in the community, supporting healthy membership growth, ensuring financial stability, and getting to know many more of our nearly 4,000 members.

We hope you will consider supporting us with your vote. We are committed to serving ASC with dedication and distinction.

Sincerely,

Michael Pasco

Bob Cochran for Vice President

Hello ASC Members,

My name is Bob Cochran, and it is my pleasure to announce that I am running for re-election as Vice President of the Andover Sportsmen’s Club, together with Mike Pasco, who is running for President.  I joined ASC in 2020, and since then I’ve had the privilege of serving as Secretary for 2022 and 2023 and as Vice President for 2024 and 2025.

I first met Mike within a month after joining the club, and he—along with a few other members—introduced me to Trap Shooting.  Over the years, I’ve seen his strong commitment to ASC, his professionalism, and his deep working knowledge of the Club and Board.  We have spent many hours together on the range as well as working side-by-side at the ASC sponsored events.  These are the reasons I chose to run with him.  I believe Mike will provide a smooth and steady transition as President.

I am also fortunate to share ASC with my family.  I wish to thank my wife Linda who is a member and has always been a tremendous supporter of my time with you all.  Our son, Derrick, has recently applied to join the ASC family.

As Vice President, I’ve focused on improving communication, increasing transparency, and helping to grow more family-friendly and community-focused events. Along with so many of the members volunteering their time, I’ve supported and managed many activities and events along with you.

Here are some of the great events that we continue to share with the membership:

Weekly Sunday Breakfast
Weekly Wednesday Social Night
Monthly Membership Meetings
4th of July BBQ & Fireworks
Introduction to Barbequeing
Deep Sea Fishing
Pig Roast
Italian Dinner
Super Bowl Party
Cribbage Tournaments

I have also been an active participant in the Archery League and Pistol League.  As a certified NRA Instructor, I have donated numerous hours of time to our LTC classes, youth programs, and 1:1 pistol instruction.

I have greatly enjoyed serving the membership and believe I still have much more to offer. We hope you will consider supporting us with your vote. Mike and I are committed to serving ASC with dedication and distinction.  I sincerely thank you for making Andover Sportsmen’s Club a wonderful place to share with our members!

Sincerely,

Bob Cochran

Christopher Salvo for President

 Fellow members,

My name is Christopher Salvo, and I’m asking for your vote to become the next President of the Andover Sportsmen Club. Our club is home to over 4,200 members and offers an incredible range of activities: indoor pistol, outdoor pistol and rifle, trap, skeet, archery, axe throwing, fishing—and soon the long-awaited 200-yard rifle range. This club has massive potential, and I believe it’s time we start operating like the modern, member-driven organization we should be in 2025.

My Commitment to You

I believe this club belongs to its members. As president, my job is not to dictate—it’s to listen, facilitate, and execute your ideas for improvement. My focus is simple: modernize the club, increase transparency, and create more opportunities for members.

My Priorities

Open the Training Range to Qualified Members - Members deserve access to the facilities they pay for. I will work to open the training range to qualified members for supervised practice and skill development.

Rent the Training Range to Qualified Instructors - There are countless highly trained instructors—many from out of state—who would love to teach here also allowing vetted, member instructors to run classes would increase training opportunities and generate new revenue.

Increase Member Voting & Involvement - Day-to-day decisions should reflect the membership. I will push for more transparency and more member votes on important issues affecting operations and spending also incorporate electronic voting by email.

Accountability for Delayed Projects - The 200-yard range is half-built and has been delayed for years. Members deserve clear answers. I will establish transparent timelines, responsible oversight, and real accountability so projects get completed—not forgotten.

Improve Range Equipment & Uptime - Broken targets and disabled machinery hurt everyone. If something can’t be fixed in-house quickly, I will not hesitate to bring in outside professionals to get ranges open and running as fast as possible.

Protecting Our Second Amendment Rights - Massachusetts continues to push restrictive legislation. For the first time in club history, I want Andover Sportsmen Club to stand up, speak up, and actively support the fight to preserve our rights.

More Training, Matches & Guest Instructors - I will invite respected instructors, training groups, and organizations to host classes and bring fresh opportunities to our members. I will also push to host shooting matches, which are not only fun and skill-building but also a powerful revenue generator for the club.

Limit Unnecessary Range Closures - Law enforcement partners are important—but they should work around member hours, not the other way around. I will ensure we protect our members’ access first.

Who I Am

Christopher Salvo, 33

Disabled U.S. Army Military Police Veteran
Owner of CSGI Firearms, Peabody (yes if elected all Andover members will get discounts on Firearms and ammo)
NRA Instructor with over 2,500 certified LTC students in the last 18 months
Former DoD Security Contractor
LEOSA Instructor / ALERRT Instructor / CRASE Instructor / Stop the Bleed Instructor / CLS Combat Life Saver / QDC Room Clearing & Active Shooter Instructor
Graduate of the U.S. Army Master Pistol & Rifle Instructor School

This club should be the best club in Massachusetts and with your vote, John and I will work tirelessly to modernize operations, expand opportunities, and put members back at the center of every decision. Thank you for your consideration as I respectfully ask for your vote.

John Kirk for Vice President

Why I want to be Vice President

My name is John Kirk, and I’m running for Vice President of the Andover Sportsmen Club. I’m asking for your support because I want to help make our club stronger, more organized, and more member-focused. As Vice President, I will assist Christopher Salvo in keeping meetings fair and efficient, ensure our programs and events run smoothly, and help put member input at the center of every decision. I’m committed to expanding our offerings to include modern shooting classes and first aid training, creating more ways for members to learn and stay safe, while also improving how the club operates and helping make the Andover Sportsmen Club the best sportsmen’s club in Massachusetts.

How I will be involved in activities As Vice President

I’ll be actively involved with members, not just present at meetings. I plan to participate in events, help coordinate programs, and personally assist in teaching first aid courses so members can gain practical, life-saving skills. I want to be approachable and hands-on, making sure every activity is safe, fun, and accessible, while listening to members’ ideas and feedback. My goal is to provide engaging opportunities for everyone, whether in pistol and rifle, shotgun sports, archery, or axe throwing, while keeping the club focused on the needs and interests of the people who make it great.

How my experience will help all members.

My experience as a Firefighter and EMT, along with my roles as a manager and firearm safety instructor at CSGI Firearms, gives me the skills and perspective to benefit every member of the Andover Sportsmen Club. I hold certifications from the NRA and Massachusetts State Police in firearm safety and instruction, having taught thousands of students in countless settings over the years. As a certified CPR, AED, First Aid, and Stop The Bleed instructor, I am eager to share this knowledge with members, helping everyone stay safe and prepared during all club activities. By combining hands-on emergency experience, leadership, and instruction, I aim to make the club a stronger, safer, and more capable community where every member can learn, grow, and enjoy their time to the fullest. While Christopher and I may be younger than some, our real-world experience, proven leadership, and dedication to the firearm community speaks for itself, and we are ready to deliver results from day one.
