Pistol, Rifle, and Rifle/Pistol.  Participants must use their own firearms, ammunition, hearing and eye protection.  The Club will provide Range Safety Officers. This is a timed/scored event which must be completed in 3 minutes. Participants will shoot from a standing, unsupported position forward of the firing line and from 3 different stations:

  • Failure to complete all stages, or exceed the total time will result in a disqualification.
  • Scoring is based on successful completion of ALL rounds, cumulative score on the IPSC target, and total elapsed time will be used in the event of  a tie.

Practice - .22 Caliber Pistol League (Indoor Pistol Range Closed)

The Andover Sportsmen's Club is pleased to announce the introduction of a club .22 Caliber Pistol League. The league is open to shooters of all levels.

A series of intro/practice matches will begin on August 9th and continue weekly until September 27th. Weekly attendance is encouraged but not required.

The goal of the practice matches will be to familiarize new and experienced shooters with how matches are run, practice time, and to develop a handicap for the official league.

The first shooting line will begin at 6pm and with the last shooter arriving no later than 7:30 PM. Shooters are not required to stay after their line is completed.

If you have no experience in this style of shooting, please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early so a team member can assist you with the basics.
The official league will start on October 11th and run through the end of March with breaks for the holidays. Teams will be made up before the official league begins and each team will require a Captain and Co-Captain who will be in charge of their team. If you have a person you would like to be on the same team with, please let team members know so we can plan accordingly.

Instructional/Beginner's Trap

Beginner Instructional Trap from 6pm till 8pm Monday nights!  - See Calender *

This slower paced class is intended for less experienced trap shooters who have taken our “Intro to Trap”, or our “Intro to Shotgun” class or have experience with their own shotgun but may feel overwhelmed by the fast pace or the mass crowds of the regular trap days.  In this class, you will shoot full rounds of trap (25 targets) just like on regular days, but at a pace where you can focus more on proper shooting techniques without worrying if you are “holding up the line.” You will be observed and instructed by a NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor and Coache.

How it works:

  • There is no eventbrite sign-up - Just show-up to the trap field
  • You do not have to attend all dates
  • On your first night, you will be given a short class, then you will shoot.  On later dates you will just shoot and other students who are there for their first night will take the class.
  • Student must provide their own shotgun and ammunition. [Each box of ammo is 1 round of trap(25)].
  • Recommended shotshell size: 2 1/2 Dram(1145 fps.) – 1 1/8oz loads of #8 shot
  • The class is free, however, there is a $3 fee for the targets.
  • The class is secheduled for six weeks, however, it may continue longer dependant upon interest to do so.

Email with questions and hope to see you on the trap field!
