Andover Sportsmen's Club

As we enter the fall season numerous activities are planned for the balance of the year, the details of which are addressed in the reports of the various Department Directors. As you read about each event, each training class, etc. you should never forget that they exist for your enjoyment as a result of the efforts of your members.

The next general club event will be the fall clean up party next Saturday. I thank in advance those members that participate.

With respect to my having also assumed the temporary mantel of Director, Trap Operations I wish to thank those members that continue to assist every week in all of the numerous Trap, Skeet and 5-Stand support activities. I especially wish to express my appreciation for the recent efforts of Mike Pasco, Membership Director, who has stepped in to handle all special events and in many respects act as de facto Trap Director

Dear members, it is now time to renew your membership for 2018. As a courtesy we are reminding you with substantial advance notice of when your dues must be paid. There is no grace period. All renewals must be received, in advance, i.e. on or before December 31st 2017. If your dues are not received by the deadline, you will be dropped from membership with your key card then being de-activated and all accrued membership privileges will be lost.

Life Members are exempt from payment of dues. Life Members will receive a “paid” invoice via the email address on file or by mail if no email address. The paid invoice will list your contact details; please reply or return the notice ONLY if your contact details have changed.

Finally, applicants who join the club after September 1st will have been billed automatically for 2018 dues.

The nominating committee has been established. The committee is as follows: Phil Proto, Joe Viscione, & Micky Mutti.

This committee will collect and submit to the President the names of candidates for various offices to be filled by a majority vote of the members at the annual meeting held in December. To qualify for nomination, a nominee must be a member in good standing for a minimum of 12 months prior to nomination. Nominations shall be closed and presented to the President prior to completion of the report of the Nominating Committee at the regular meeting in November.

We will be placing an order for additional 3D targets and will be relocating some targets as well as adding targets to the 3D course. Trail maintenance will be performed, volunteers to assist is always greatly appreciated.

On the practice range we are in the process of designing and installing a wall between the new trap range and the archery field. Our goal with the wall is first for safety and maintaining a visually pleasing effect on the practice range side.
