Electric Vehicle Charging Station

The Andover Sportsmen's Club was formed, in part, to conserve, restore and manage the environment.

Due to member interest, the Board of Directors approved the installation of an Electric Vehicle Charging Station, conveniently located adjacent to the Indoor Range.

Hybrid and electric vehicles produce fewer carbon emissions than conventional gasoline/diesel-powered vehicles.   The EV Charging Station, for member use, is in keeping with our founding purpose.

The new equipment, rated for outdoor use, is a Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charging Station.  It offers a 25-foot charging cable.   All electric and plug-in vehicles sold in the United States and Canada can be charged using this station.  For example: Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, Ford Fusion, BMW i3, Chevy Volt, Toyota Prius and with an adapter, Tesla.  The charger is up to 8 times faster than standard AC Level 1 EV chargers.  Members will be able to quickly charge and go.

To use the charger, park at the Indoor Range double doors.    The use of the charger will be based on the honor system, similar to the sale of targets at the Indoor Range.  Insert $2.00 in the mailbox located above the charger.  You may also purchase, in advance, EV charger vouchers for $2.00 each.  Plug in your vehicle.   The charger light will glow blue while charging.  When the charge is completed, or when the charger is not is use, it will glow green.  Coil the cord and re-connect the plug to the storage adapter/hook on the wall.

The driveway and parking areas are scheduled to be black-topped and re-striped this Spring.  The reserved space for charging will also be marked at that time.
