Boating Safety

Boating Safety Class - Learn Boating Basics

 

The Massachusetts Environmental Police and trained volunteer Instructors will be conducting a free Boating Safety Course at the Andover Sportsmen's Clubhouse located as 655 Middleton Road, North Andover, Ma 01845.

The course is open to club members, their families and friends and to the public.  A Certificate of Boating will be issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts upon successful completion of this course.  Youths ages 12-15 who pass the course will recieve a certificate allowing them to operate a motor-boat without an adult on board.

The course will be held on three(3) consecutive Friday evenings 6:00pm to 9:30pm.  The course will begin on May 13th and runs until May 27th.

ASC Ladies Night - Outdoor Pistol Range

ASC Ladies Night - Outdoor Pistols

Advanced beginner/Intermediate/Advanced
6:15pm -7:15pm

ASC pistol instructors will review safety and skills necessary to use a pistol  in a comfortable learning environment.  This event is held at on the Outdoor Pistol Range (first building on the right as you enter the property) and is open to women only. 

Advanced Beginners - geared to women who are newer to shooting, have attended at least one Ladies Night training session, and are gaining confidence handling their firearm safely.

 Intermediate/Advanced - geared to women who have attended multiple training sessions and are comfortable handling their firearm safely. Please bring your pistol, ammo (50 rounds minimum), ear & eye protection.

Closed toe shoes/sneakers, no V-neck or sleeveless shirts please.
Bring/dress in layers as spring temps are unpredictable.

NRA HOME FIREARM SAFETY COURSE

This is a four-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, course completion certificate.

This Is A Non Firearms Based Course

Safety experts agree the single most important step to ensuring your personal safety is making the conscious decision to Refuse To Be A Victim®. You stand a much better chance of preventing criminal attack if you develop a safety plan before you need it. That is why the Refuse To Be A Victim® crime prevention seminar was developed.

This NRA program teaches easy to understand methods you can use to increase awareness and prevent criminal confrontation. In this 4 hour class you will get the tools you need to develop your own personal safety strategy, including information about:

  • Psychology of criminal predators
  • Mental preparedness
  • Home security
  • Physical Security
  • Automobile security
  • Out-of-town travel security
  • Self Defense physical training
  • Personal protection devices

This class will be taught by NRA certified instructors.

ASC club members and family ONLY (club member must accompany a family member to the class)

One on One Training

1 ON 1 TRAINING FOR MEMBERS AND ADULT FAMILY MEMBERS !

Just got your LTC ?  Not ready for accuracy class? Spend an hour  1 on 1 with a pistol coach !

THIS CLASS IS FOR A BEGINNER SHOOTER ONLY ! WILL NOT COACH ON ADVANCED TECHNIQUES !

This class is for a beginner. We will go over topics :

Proper grip
Proper stance
Proper sight picture
Shooting
How to make sure a pistol fits properly
Questions on Calibers
Carry pistol vs. Range pistols
This class is designed for the beginners shooter that is not ready to take our accuracy class. Class is designed to last an hour.  Shooter should bring a hand gun and a box of ammo, ear protection and eye protection. Contact me if you need help with anything before the class.

Please be on time. All dates have several students taking the class , one right after the other !
