2015 Annual Pig Roast

This year, we will be hosting our annual pig roast on Saturday, September 26th. The meal will begin at 1pm.

We supply the pig and the facilities (along with a few sides) -- you supply your presence, and a dish of your own: Rice Dish, Baked Beans, Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Green Salads, Green bean Salad, Brownies, Cookies, Pies, or whatever is your special dish! This year we are also having morning competitions at the Trap and Outdoor Ranges:

Trap: 50 round shoot

  • 9:00 am to 11:00 am
  • Only $5 for the birds - Prizes to the top 3

  • 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

2015 Fall Work Party

We will be having our 2015 Spring Work Party on October 10th (rain date is October 17th)!

Breakfast is from 8am to 9am (free), work starts at 9am, we break for lunch at noon (also free), we finish up jobs after lunch and are generally done by 3pm. All ranges are closed until 3pm.

There will be eight $25 drawings at lunch awarded to those in attendance.

People are needed for all typical work party projects, including:

  • Cleaning kitchen
  • Cleaning windows
  • Field clean up at outdoor range
  • Field clean up at Trap range including hanging nets, picking up "whole" clays, etc.
  • Path clean up at Archery
  • Use of club backpack blower to clean walkways, drive, etc.
  • Power washing: parking lot stains, concrete stains, kitchen exhaust ducts, etc.
  • Wood cutting, splitting, stacking
  • Your insight, advice, suggestions are welcomed even if you don't want to do some of the heavy "lifting"

Tools needed:

  • Power washing equipment (ideally gasoline powered)
  • Containers of gasoline
  • Rakes, shovels, brooms, leaf blowers
  • Any other useful tools

C&R Shoot

The C&R club will meet on Sunday, June 21st at 9am. After breakfast, we will head over to the Outdoor Range. Members will bring antique and C&R firearms to shoot. All are welcome to join, and the range will not be closed for general use. A friendly, fun event to give people a chance to fire old firearms. Hopefully, this will become an event that we do several times a year.

We are a group of members interested in getting people together to share information, acquisitions and the fun of collecting firearms. We hope to meet once a month. We will have featured firearms and events where people can handle and fire collectible firearms.

ASC Top Shot Competition

On Saturday, June 6th at 8:30am, the Andover Sportsmen's Club is hosting a Top Shot Competition (for members and their families only). We hope this event will become a new tradition at the Club.

2015 Fishing Derby

Our biggest community event of the year, the 2015 Fishing Derby, is just around the corner. It will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 and will start at 6:00 am at Sudden Pond. I am looking for volunteers to help make this fishing derby a success. We also need help setting up at Sudden Pond on Friday, April 24th, meeting at the club at 8:00 am. Later that morning, the pond will be stocked with fish.

April 50-Bird Trap Shoot

We will be hosting a 50-bird trap shoot on Saturday, April 11th at 9am. The cost for entry will be $15 plus the cost of birds, with 100% prize payout.
