Road Work Complete

All ASC members,

I am pleased to inform you that you now have unimpeded access to the club property from all three approaches. All paving work has been completed and for the first time in more than a decade we can now look forward to not doing a bit of harm to our cars each time we drive to the club.

The only negligible warning is that although all paving work has been completed, there is a stretch of road commencing near the Ranger station when heading towards Middleton where they have yet to paint the yellow center line. It is my understanding that this minor task should be completed tomorrow (June 21st).

Club Access (Road Closure) Update

Steve Cooper (ASC Director of Community Relations) has been looking into the situation we reported late yesterday concerning Middleton Road repairs and the effect that will have on members gaining access to ASC property. After having had discussions with the North Andover and State Police authorities, Steve also had an on-site discussion with the head of the work crew.

The result are as follows:

  1. That which is taking place is a State and not a North Andover project
  2. Because they are repaving the entire length of Middleton Road the work will continue through this coming weekend,
  3. The repair crews have no problem allowing members to gain access to ASC property. They only ask that you be patient.
  4. Generally they are working on a single lane at a time allowing permitted traffic access. However, when paving commences (probably tomorrow) they cannot guarantee 100% that one lane will always be clear. They describe the odds of the one lane used for traffic being closed from time to time as being "spotty"
  5. I again suggest that when trying to access the club that you do so from the Jenkins Road direction.

Further information will be posted as it is available, including when the project has been concluded and normal access is restored.
