American Legion Ceremonial Maneuvers

The American Legion supports disabled veterans, military families in need and local communities with a devotion towards mutual helpfulness.  The American Legion has more than 12,000 posts in communities throughout the United States. The American Legion  will be using trap field #2 to practice their ceremonial maneuvers between 9am and 11am on August 3rd and 11th and on September 7th and 15th.

8am to 4pm at Trap Field

Description:  This is a full, 10 hour, NRA certified Shotgun Class and includes classroom and range time. Students that successfully complete the class will receive an NRA Certificate of completion.  The purpose of this class is to teach the Knowledge , Skill and Attitude to shoot a moving target with a shotgun. Students learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. All class materials, shotguns and ammunition will be provided.

Class will be taught on Saturday starting at 8am and will conclude around 6pm. People attending the class need to make arrangements for their own lunch. Please bring eyes and ear protection, limited supplies will be available for those that do not have them.

We ask only that you bring a good attitude and a willingness to learn.

Cancellation/Noshow Policy:  This class is very popular, if you sign up and and then decide not to attend, you must go back to the EventBrite site and cancel your registration to free up your slot for someone else at least 7 days prior to the class date. If you do not do so, you will be invoiced for a $25 "No Show" fee. To cancel a registration: 1. Go to the EventBrite site and log in (www.eventbrite.com). 2. click on the "My Tickets" link. 3. Click the "View Order" button for the class you want to cancel. 4. Click the "Cancel Order" button and confirm.

  • Recite your original clay sports themed Haiku and receive a free round ofTrap/Skeet.
  • Wear some 18th century grb, Revolutionary War era, recieve a free round of Trap/Skeet.
  • 5 different games with 3 squads each.  15 shots per game for $5.00/game.
  • Sign-up sheets and the list of games will be in the warming hut.  Please sign-up for no more than 3 games.  Money will be collected the day of the games.
  • Final sign-ups to be from 8AM to 8:45AM the mourning of the games.
  • Everyone will win a prize!
  • Trap Field #2 will be open for regular use.
  • The Games we will be playing for prizes are: Low gun trap, sit on bucket, Mystery Bird, 26 yard caps and wobbles.
